Decatur Women’s Sport League, LLC

The Founder of this ‘League’ is Anne Barr.  March 2007 was the year she would pull it together.  As a member of the Church Christ Covenant,  Anne became truly dedicated to giving back to the community where she grew up.

With the wheels in motion, well over 200 women signed up, warmed up & batted up, for the first softball pitch to be thrown.  Friday nights now, are like no other for jock minded women.  Ages range from 21 to at least 68.  We hear tell the average age is 30 something.  “YOU GO GIRLS”!

What’s new with this league, you ask?  Plenty!  Softball for sure, however, bowling, basketball and tennis are all in play as well.  We have just added volleyball and badminton too! Come on ladies, let’s jock it up...

We welcome you to the 2012 Decatur Women’s Sports League.

This year promises to be the best ever.  Thanks to the Coaches, players, fans and sponsors, this organization continues to flourish.

Here’s to Good Sports Womanship

Anne Barr, better known as “Sarge” is on her way to developing one of the largest women’s sports league in the country.  Year 2007 yielded over 600 players.

One main chosen charity of this league is ‘The Health Initiative’.  This non-profit organization provides outreach, education and advocacy for women who are committed to living healthier lives.

This sports league is for all women.    After all, it is really just about the game...isn’t it?
